OFF-TRACK RE-TRAINING PROGRAM

Ruocco Equestrian Training is an established organization that is dedicated to acquiring retired or non-eligible Thoroughbreds off the race track, re-training them and finding them the loving home that they deserve. Our vision is to transform them from competitors to successful athletes in the hunter jumper, and english/western pleasure disciplines through a positive and dedicated training experience specifically tailored to each horses needs.

Our referrals come directly from trainers we have worked and connected with over the years. Although the Del Mar Racetrack is one of our primary referrers we also have worked with other tracks in California such as Santa Anita Park, San Luis Rey Downs, Fairplex, Golden Gate Fields, and Los Alamitos.

Quarter horses are considered for re-training if they are able to meet our guidelines in order to make it through the training program.

Training techniques used are based on the Advanced Basic Handle System, a progressive 10-step skill advancement system, created by Patrick Wyse.
