Horses 101 for Developing Equestrians

HORSES 101

Learn the basics of horse riding and experience new and fun activities by enrolling in our various training sessions. Enrollment is available for one-week sessions (Monday through Friday) during the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter breaks.

Our Horse 101 program provides basic and entertaining instruction for all leveled riders in a safe and friendly environment. Riders will take part in activities that teach them the basics of caring for a horse such as proper handling, safety, and grooming. The multiple hands-on activities will give all riders the confidence and knowledge necessary to ride horses.

All attendees must bring lunch, closed toe shoes, long pants and a helmet. Beginners are welcome!

About Katie

I have been riding since I was 8 so about 10 years now. I am currently studying business at the University of Rochester with plans to major in marketing and finance. My favorite part of teaching is sharing what I love with others!

About Jayme

My name is Jayme and I have been riding since I was 4. I currently do not have a horse but I have been catch-riding horses for Emily and on my friend’s horses. I am currently a senior at Bonita Vista high school and I plan on studying business or psychology when I go to college. I love teaching both kids and adults because it makes me happy when I see the smile on their faces after their ride, and just knowing that for most, this is the highlight of their day.

About Alexis

I’ve been riding since i was 10 so about 8 years now. I have two horses on property, Gracie and Cooper. I’m a senior at Otay Ranch High-school and plan to major in business in college. My favorite part about teaching is seeing my students improvement and the happiness it brings them to work with these amazing animals.
