Ruocco and those that make it happen...

This is were I am building what I am most passionate about and I'm on a mission to go big. For the past couple of years I have had the greatest time taking some of my favorite mounts fromt the race track that can no longer race due to different reasons  and putting time into them so they can have a second chance at doing something that they are good at doing. Most of my thoroughbreds have transitioned into the world of jumping while others have gone for dressage, polo, or simply have become family horses for many of my clients. Either way, whatever these horses show they are best at doing they all deserve a second chance at life.  I am proud to say that by working with different non-profit organizations I have been able to place these horses into wonderful families a lot easier and faster than ever . Ruocco Equestrian's mission is to place every horse that comes to us into a permanent and loving home. We look forward to presenting many more rescues in the year of 2009 and show that these wonderful atheltes are up for the great challenge that await them.

"It's hard because many of the people that I  speak with don't realize what happens to race horses once thay are done racing;  it's so difficult to sell to trainers because once you mention that the horse they are looking at is off the race track, they automatically get turned off.  People think they are wild and hard to manage.  It's quite the opposite - they are athletes and want to please."
